The smoke fire damper is installed at the end of each branch pipe (flue gas inlet) of the mechanical smoke extraction system. It is normally closed and meets air leakage requirements. In case of fire or when smoke extraction is needed, it can be opened manually and electrically to perform smoke extraction. Valves equipped with decorative openings or with decorative finishes are called smoke vents. A smoke damper generally consists of a valve body, blades, remote control actuator and other components.
